Cascade Falls Zion National Park Hike
Cascade Falls is a wonderful 2 mile round-trip hike. It is located on top of the Markagunt Plateau above Cedar City along the Virgin River Rim Trail. This hike offers you majestic vistas overlooking the back country of Zion National Park, Kolob Mountain, and Strawberry Point. As you hike along the trail, you will see unique trees such as the Bristlecone Pine and the Ponderosa Pine Tree. The Bristlecone Pine trees are some of the oldest trees in the world. We also experience the natural erosion process of the Limestone formation that caps the top of Cedar Mountain.
As we arrive at Cascade Falls we will witness the headwaters of the Virgin River. The falls are beautiful and some excellent photographic opportunities are available. This is definitely one of the more memorable hikes in the area.
