Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Arrive Dallas/Fort Worth and Waco

Begin your Texas experience as you arrive at DFW Airport and meet your tour director, then travel south to Waco. Visit Magnolia Market and Silo Baking Co., created by Chip and Joanna Gaines, to explore, eat, shop and get inspired. After checking in at your hotel, join the group for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

    Dinner included

  2. Day 2

    LBJ country and Fredericksburg

Depart Waco and travel south, with a first stop at Buc-ee's, home of the cleanest bathrooms, beaver nuggets and an in-store experience you are sure to love. In Johnson City, tour LBJ's boyhood home, then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the LBJ Ranch, known as the Texas White House. Later, stroll the 200-acre Wildseed Farms, with a half-mile walking trail, gardens and optional wine tastings. Check into your hotel and spend the evening exploring the German town of Fredericksburg on your own.

    Breakfast and lunch included

  3. Day 3

    Fredericksburg to San Antonio

This morning, visit the National Museum of the Pacific War, a Smithsonian affiliate and the nation's most comprehensive account of World War II in the Pacific. Then travel to San Antonio for lunch at the Buckhorn Saloon and Museum, where Teddy Roosevelt is said to have recruited Rough Riders. Stroll through the city to the River Walk for a 35-minute narrated cruise past La Villita, the city's first neighborhood, and the Old Mill Crossing. Check into your hotel with the evening free to explore the River Walk and downtown.

    Breakfast and lunch included

  4. Day 4

The Alamo and the San Antonio Missions

After breakfast, visit the Alamo and uncover 300 years of history. Established in 1718 as Mission San Antonio de Valero, it existed under five flags and served as a garrison for five armies before the 1836 battle that made it famous. Continue to San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site preserving four Spanish frontier missions. Then enjoy lunch at Mi Tierra, a San Antonio landmark for more than 80 years, famous for its festive décor, Tex-Mex dishes and pan dulce. The afternoon is free to explore the city.

    Breakfast and lunch included

  5. Day 5

    Corpus Christi to Galveston

Travel to Corpus Christi and tour the USS Lexington. Commissioned in 1943, she set more records than any other Essex-class carrier, and was the Navy's oldest working carrier when decommissioned in 1991. Enjoy seafood for lunch in Corpus Christi, then relax on the coastal drive to Galveston Island, a Gulf Coast barrier island full of art, historic architecture, boutiques and ghost legends. The evening is free to explore and have dinner on your own.
