Day 1: Welcome to Albuquerque & Group Dinner

The "Land of Enchantment" welcomes you as your unforgettable Southwest journey begins! Arrive in beautiful Albuquerque, New Mexico today (please plan to arrive by 2:30 PM).

Upon arrival, you will be met by your expert Southwest Adventure Tours tour director and transferred seamlessly to our host hotel. After check-in, take some time to unpack, settle into your room, and refresh.

This evening, join your fellow travelers for a fun, festive Welcome Dinner at a curated local Albuquerque restaurant. It’s the perfect opportunity to toast to the upcoming International Balloon Fiesta, savor authentic New Mexican flavors, and get ready for the adventure ahead!

Day 3: Sandia Peak Tramway, Indian Pueblo Cultural Center & Balloon Fiesta Evening Glow

Start your morning with a breathtaking, bird’s-eye view of the entire valley aboard the world-famous Sandia Peak Tramway. As you smoothly ascend and descend from the staggering 10,387-foot crest, look out over the landscape below—you may even spot colorful hot air balloons drifting through the morning sky. From this incredible vantage point, you will gaze upon the ancestral lands that the Pueblo and Ancestral Pueblo people have called home for millennia.

Next, dive deep into the rich heritage of the Southwest at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. This fascinating visit offers an immersive introduction to America’s first "apartment dwellers," the Pueblo tribes. You will explore a vibrant collection of authentic artifacts and traditional crafts, gaining insight into the deep-rooted cultural and religious customs that have preserved this society for over 1,000 years. Depending on the daily schedule, you may get to witness live, traditional native dances and see master craftsmen at work.

After an independent lunch, return to the hotel for a bit of downtime to rest and recharge.

This evening features one of the undisputed highlights of the entire tour. Head back to the Fiesta Field for VIP access to the Chasers Club, where you will enjoy a delicious dinner right next to the action. Tonight, you'll witness the magic of the evening festivities—including the Twilight Twinkle Glow™, Special Shape Glowdeo™, or the Night Magic Glow™. The most spectacular single moment of the entire Balloon Fiesta happens when all the balloons fire their burners simultaneously, illuminating the night like giant lanterns. The evening concludes with the jaw-dropping AfterGlow™ Fireworks Show, widely regarded as New Mexico's most spectacular fireworks display.

Day 5: The High Road to Taos, El Santuario de Chimayó & Historic Taos Pueblo

Today, journey deep into the heart of Northern New Mexico's cultural landscape. Your Taos day trip from Santa Fe begins with a scenic drive to the historic village of Chimayó. Nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains along the historic Old Spanish Trail, this village is world-renowned for its multi-generational Spanish weavers and woodcarvers. You will have time to explore El Santuario de Chimayó, a sacred 19th-century adobe shrine that draws over 300,000 pilgrims annually. Marvel at its classic Spanish-colonial architecture and learn about the "miraculous holy dirt" believed by many to have profound healing properties.

After witnessing local craftsmen at work, your journey continues along the breathtaking High Road to Taos Scenic Byway. Concluding an unforgettable exploration of the "Land of Enchantment," you will return to Santa Fe this evening to join your tour director and fellow travelers for a special, celebratory farewell dinner.
