Guide
Abby Romm
I’m Abby, originally from the U.S. and a longtime traveler who’s been living a nomadic life for the past four years. What led me to guiding was a love for being outdoors, connecting people to place, and creating experiences that feel both adventurous and grounding. I’m happiest when I’m moving through wild landscapes and helping people feel confident, cared for, and inspired along the way.
The moment when guests realize they’re capable of more than they thought—usually halfway through a tougher hike.
Why I love being a guide
I love guiding with Southwest Adventure Tours because it allows me to share the magic of the national parks in a way that’s immersive, thoughtful, respectful, and fun. Helping guests slow down, take it all in, and truly connect with these landscapes never gets old.
My guiding style
Guests often describe me as energetic, upbeat, and approachable, with a good balance of knowledge and humor. On tour, you can expect clear communication, flexibility, and someone who genuinely wants you to have a great experience—whether that means pushing your comfort zone or simply soaking in the view.
Favorite places
Bryce Canyon National Park is a favorite of mine—the hoodoos, sweeping viewpoints, and ever-changing light make it feel surreal every time. No matter how many visits, it always delivers a sense of wonder and perspective. I love seeing guests’ reaction upon arriving the first time.
Fun facts
- I have travelled solo in over 20 countries
- I swam across Lake Atitlán in Guatemala (3 mi)
