Guide
Sarah Palmer
Hello! I am a true wanderer, born and raised in Denver, CO, who loves anything and everything nature based! I have a background in wildlife biology and conservation research, and have been guiding in and around our national parks for a collective 7 years. My passion for wildlife and the outdoors pushes me to all corners of the globe and I am always up for the next adventure!
I really enjoy when we meet up in the mornings after free evenings because I get to hear what everyone got up to the night before and what adventures took place! A good cup of coffee is always involved as well. The mornings hold so much promise for a great day on tour!
Why I love being a guide
While so many aspects of my job make it easy to get out of bed in the morning, the single best instance for me as a guide is watching the exact moment when my guests realize just how incredible and special our protected outdoor spaces are. I have loved these places all my life, and watching guests experience the magic that is created out here for the first (or second, or third) time ends up being incredibly fulfilling for me as well.
My guiding style
I love sharing information and have tons of fun facts for guests around every turn! I am pretty high energy and like to explore as much of an area as possible!
Favorite places
While many of the national parks out here are incredibly special to me, I am a mountain girl at heart, and The Grand Teton National Park truly has a piece of my soul. Not to mention unparalleled wildlife viewing!
Fun facts
- A great love in my life is scuba diving! I have been diving all around the world, hold many high level certifications, and spend a lot of my winter season in the water looking for ocean critters!
- My favorite animal is the moose! They are huge and goofy, but also command a lot of respect and space! Ecologically speaking, they have several funky and fun attributes that make them really enjoyable to study.
- I eat a lot of banana cream pie and know all the good pie spots along our tour routes!
