Guide
Wayne Parker
I am a Midwesterner at heart having grown up in Minneapolis. I am a graduate of the University of Minnesota’s School of Business in Marketing and Sales Administration. Being an entrepreneur at heart, I have built 3 companies of my own over the last 45 years each one of them started from scratch and grew to successful organizations. Having run 32 marathons over the last 35 years, I have found helping people one of my passions. As such I put together marathon running trips all over the West. One of the businesses was a tour company. For 25 years I trained tour guides, built tours all over the western United States, but my love was sharing my love of this part of the world with visitors.
Learning new history of an area I have traveled.
Why I love being a guide
Sharing my love of the history, geology flora and fauna of the West with visitors.
My guiding style
High energy and extremely knowledgeable. Lots of information and great stories.
Favorite places
Grand Canyon National Park. I have run two marathons from the North Rim to the South Rim. On the second run rim to rim, I met my future wife at Ribbon Falls.
Fun facts
Running, hiking, reading, traveling. I’ve run 32 marathons and two 60 mile ultra marathons.
