Nevada
There is a whole lot more to Nevada than just Las Vegas! Many of our tours begin and end in Las Vegas, then head over to either Arizona or Utah. However, many people don’t realize that there is so much to see in the Silver State of Nevada.
We have tours that include the very seldomly visited and Nevada’s only national park, Great Basin. Nevada also has numerous beautiful state parks such as Valley of Fire, Red Rock Canyon and Cathedral Gorge, to mention a few. There’s also the new national monument, Gold Butte. And let’s not forget spectacular Hoover Dam and neighboring Lake Mead Recreation Area.
If you would like to customize any of our tours that start/end in Las Vegas to include some gorgeous Nevada scenery, we’d be happy to accommodate you. We also have a tour that visits Great Basin National Park, then goes on to visit Zion and Bryce.

Planning a trip to Nevada
Nevada is the way into the Southwest more often than it is the destination. Las Vegas is the cheapest airport to fly into for Zion, Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon, and most of the trips associated with the state start there and leave it.
The state does have one national park, and almost nobody goes to it. Great Basin, on the Utah border, holds Wheeler Peak at 13,065 feet, a grove of bristlecone pines that are among the oldest living things on earth, and the Lehman Caves under the mountain.
It is also one of the darkest places in the country. Great Basin is a certified dark-sky park, and on a moonless night the difference from a suburban sky is not subtle.
The Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive is seasonal and closes with snow, so the high part of the park is a summer and early-autumn proposition.
