Itinerary:

  • Begin your Texas experience as you arrive at the DFW Airport and meet your tour director at the Airport by 1:00pm. (*Please arrive at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport before 1:00pm). Then board the motorcoach and depart the Dallas area as you travel south to Waco. Just north of town, visit Homestead Heritage Traditional Craft Village. Homestead Craft Village showcases the work of a community of craftsmen who have returned, not to the past, but to the enduring values exemplified in handcraftsmanship. True craft requires more than skill, it expresses the craftsmen’s care and concern, their personal investment in everything they do. After checking into your hotel for a two-night stay, enjoy a little time to freshen up, then join the group for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

  • Start the morning with a stop at the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame, a museum that preserves the history and inspires an appreciation of the Texas Rangers, a legendary symbol of Texas and the American West.  Then take a fun River Cruise Tour of Waco. Sit back and relax on a peaceful and informative cruise experience on the Brazos River. Enjoy this luxurious outing as your Captain and Guide welcome you, entertain you, and share intriguing stories of this life-giving river, featuring Waco’s history and its people both past and present. You will see beautiful landscapes and wildlife, as well as some of Waco’s iconic sights. It’s sure to be one of the most memorable experiences in Waco.  Next enjoy some free time to explore and have lunch on your own at Magnolia Market, run by Chip & Joanna Gaines, the host of HGTV’s popular show Fixer Upper. Just two blocks away the Dr. Pepper Museum offers a fun look back and an afternoon treat. Before returning to the hotel, visit the Waco Mammoth National Monument. This paleontological site represents the nation’s only recorded discovery of a nursery herd of Columbian mammoths. Visitors can view "in situ" fossils including female mammoths, a bull mammoth, and a camel that lived approximately 67,000 years ago.  This evening, join the group for an included dinner at a local favorite restaurant.

  • This morning, depart Waco and travel north for a historic tour of Dallas including the Grassy Knoll and touring of the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza chronicles the assassination and legacy of President John F. Kennedy; interprets the Dealey Plaza National Historical Landmark District and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza; and presents contemporary culture within the context of presidential history. Lunch will be on your own today with so many fun eateries to choose from in the area. After lunch, take in the sights of Dallas from a different perspective, 470 feet in the air from the Reunion Tower Geo-Deck. You will experience 360-degree views from the indoor/outdoor observation deck where you can see for miles in any direction.  Then visit the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden on the shore of White Rock Lake. Featuring 66 acres with 11 lush display gardens that offer seasonal color all year long. It is also the home of Dallas Blooms Spring, the Southwest's largest outdoor floral festival. After a wonderful day in Dallas, make your way to Grapevine and check in for a three-night stay. This evening, join the group for dinner at a local restaurant.

  • After a leisurely morning, travel to Fort Worth to visit the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame. Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame honors those individuals who have shown excellence in competition, business and support of rodeo and western lifestyle in Texas. You will also enjoy the famous daily cattle drive through the Stockyards National Historic Site, once the largest livestock marketing center in the Southwest.  After the cattle drive enjoy some free time in Fort Worth to explore and have lunch on your own. In the afternoon, travel to Arlington and the University of Texas for a special presentation at the UTA Planetarium. This will be a fun lead-up to the eclipse experience coming the following day. Return to Grapevine and your hotel with the evening free to explore and have dinner on your own.

  • Today experience the incredible sight of a full solar eclipse. After a leisurely morning, transfer to Grape Vine’s Peace Plaza located in the historic Main Street District for a VIP Solar Eclipse Watch Party! Upon arrival, receive a Texas 2024 Eclipse Swag Bag valued at $200. Enjoy live music, including food and drinks, a reserved table for our group and unobstructed views of the eclipse. The event will run from 11:00am to 3:00pm. The rest of the day will be free to explore Grapevine. Step back in time as you visit Historic Downtown Grapevine with its collection of charming shops, restaurants, winery tasting rooms and art galleries. This evening, join the group for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
